Job description, responsibilities and duties
Position involves server, network performance tool support and vendor management. Position receives general direction from supervisor and works with limited supervision. Work involves day-to-day problem determination and support along with longer term project-based tasks.

• Expert level of support of servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008
• Expert ability to troubleshoot complex server issues (hardware, operating system, and application level)
• Intermediate level of support of Linux OS’s
• Intermediate level of understanding of server security (including creating and applying windows security profiles)
• Intermediate level of knowledge of Dell and IBM server hardware (including Dell DRAC and IBM RSA/IMM remote management features)
• Intermediate level of knowledge of RAID configurations and management
• Intermediate level of knowledge of remote access tools (SSH, PC Anywhere and Remote Desktop)
• Intermediate level of knowledge of Antivirus software such as Symantec and McAfee
• Intermediate knowledge of LAN/WAN networks and firewalls
• Basic Microsoft SQL Server administration
• Basic Apache and Tomcat administration
• Basic knowledge of windows host scripting (VBScript)
• Basic use of network trace tools (Wireshark) to troubleshoot server communications issues
• Basic familiarity with SNMP-based network management tools (Alcatel-Lucent VitalNet)
• Basic knowledge of SNMP
